Dr Joseph Wee is a Senior Consultant in Radiation Oncology as well as the Chairman of the Medical Board at the National Cancer Centre, Singapore, and an adjunct Associate Professor at the Duke-NUS Graduate Medical School. He graduated MBBS from the National University of Singapore and obtained his Fellowship of the Royal College of Radiologists in Clinical Oncology in 1991. He was elected Fellow of The Academy of Medicine of Singapore in 1995. His primary research interest is in Nasopharyngeal Cancer and Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy. He was the Principal Investigator for two Phase 3 trials of chemotherapy in NPC and has published several papers in this area. He has also received several grants for research in NPC and was instrumental in setting up IMRT for NPC in Singapore. In 2009, he received the Singapore National Medical Research Council, Clinician Scientist Award (Senior Investigator) to perform clinical trials in NPC.
