Breakthrough in tracking tumor erythropoietin receptor expression

Franck Morceau, Marc Diederich

Abstract

Erythropoietin (EPO) was discovered more than one century ago as hemopoietin, a plasmatic humoral factor essential for red blood cell development (1). It was later described as a 34-kDa glycoprotein of 165 amino acids acting as a hormone, cytokine and growth factor (2).
